In English there is a popular song that summarizes what is happening in this comic and why the children have become like little angels in December. 

It is the Christmas holiday song “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town”.

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list,
Checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake 

Children know that if they want to have presents from Santa Claus or from their own parents they need to be good.  Santa Claus keeps a list of all the children of the world to track who has been good and who has been bad. 

If you have been good you get a nice gift. 

If you have been bad you get a lump of coal.

This comic is funny because many children try to be extra good the closer it is to Christmas because they know they have not been perfect during the rest of the year.
